India Solar Supply Chain Map Q4 2024
December 1, 2024
Sinovoltaics India Solar Energy Supply Chain Map. Latest India solar PV panel manufacturers & supply chain traceability manufacturing insights Q4 2024:
- This latest version of the Sinovoltaics India Solar Supply Chain Map includes several updates. Avaada Group announced that it will manufacture 3 GW of modules and 5 GW of cells. Additionally, Luxra said it would expand its capacity to 2GW of module production by 2027/2030. We have left out BIPV module manufacturers in this iteration of the map.
- The current market press releases and data indicate that there is 58.4 GW of module capacity currently in India, but an additional 60 GW has been announced by various parties for 2027/2030 (for a total of 119 GW). The expansion is thanks to measures taken under the Make in India and PLI scheme.
- Most of the module production is focused on Passivated Emitter Rear Contact (PERC). However, there is a clear shift towards Tunnel Oxide Passivated Contact (TOPCon). The current nameplate cell production is at 13.6 GW, but announcements look to jump by 47.2 GW in the coming 3 - 5 years for a total of 61.6 GW by 2027/2030. There was 4 GW of Ingot capacity, and public releases indicate a jump to 28 GW by 2027/2030. The larger proportion of manufacturing is currently taking place in Gujarat.
