Sinovoltaics Partners with SwissWatt One to Provide 100% Panel Inspection at the Factory
Austin, Texas and Widnau, Switzerland – August 20, 2024 – Sinovoltaics, a global leader in quality assurance for solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage system (BESS) industries, has partnered with SwissWatt One to provide the Swiss solar panel manufacturer with independent quality assurance inspections for its solar panels. 100% of SwissWatt One’s modules are now being inspected using Sinovoltaics’ proprietary SELMA technology that uses AI-enabled electroluminescence technology to identify 99% of manufacturer defects.
SwissWatt One panels are designed in Switzerland to the highest Swiss quality standards. Sinovoltaics will provide its independent inspection services at the SwissWatt One factories in Asia, ensuring that only defect-free modules are shipped to SwissWatt One customers.
Typically, solar module manufacturers conduct their own quality assurance during production. Sinovoltaics’ A.I.-enabled inspection services differentiate SwissWatt One from other solar panel manufacturers by ensuring production quality is verified by an independent, trusted third party.
"Sinovoltaics’ third-party review of SwissWatt One’s panels at the factory is a part of our ongoing commitment to quality innovations,” said Arthur Claire, Director of Technology at Sinovoltaics. “Without our SELMA technology, PV manufacturer workers only visually review Electroluminescence photographs on a computer screen. With thousands of images going by per day, it’s very easy to miss defects. Manufacturers have an incentive to ship as many modules as possible without a third-party review, so SwissWatt One is showing its dedication to excellence by going beyond common practices and ensuring that they’re shipping the highest-quality panels.”
As part of the quality assurance testing at the factory, Sinovoltaics will monitor the modules during the production process and before loading, using 100% EL image monitoring supported by its AI algorithm that instantly identifies 99% of PV manufacturing defects. Sinovoltaics will also monitor the loading process to avoid damage during panel transportation.
Products that Sinovoltaics will test include various black n-type TOPcon modules. The Davos Diamond 2.0 440–450 W modules are rated up to 22.03% efficiency, with product and performance guarantees of 40 years. The Davos Black Diamond 440 W dual glass full black has up to 22.5% efficiency and also comes with performance guarantees of 40 years.
“SwissWatt One was already manufacturing our panels to Swiss quality standards by involving the most renowned Swiss test centers in our quality assurance procedures,” said Michael Heilig CEO at SwissWatt One. “The factory testing by Sinovoltaics will take this a step further, playing a crucial role in making sure that our modules have outstanding quality.
SwissWatt One panels are currently sold in Europe. The company plans to enter the U.S. solar market in Q4 2025.
With its partnership with SwissWatt One, Sinovoltaics continues its tradition of quality assurance innovation and the advancement of quality standards for both solar PV systems and BESS.
