Sinovoltaics Completes First EPEAT Low-Carbon Solar Audits for Qcells Modules

Switzerland, Lausanne, September 17, 2025 – Sinovoltaics, a global leader in technical compliance and quality assurance for the solar (PV) and energy storage (BESS) industries, has successfully completed the first EPEAT Low-Carbon Solar audits for Qcells. The audits covered two types of Qcells solar modules. Both products are manufactured at Qcells’ Dalton, Georgia facility and were found to meet all criteria required for EPEAT Low-Carbon Solar certification.

“For manufacturers such as Qcells, achieving EPEAT certification represents more than compliance. It underscores a commitment to responsible production and positions their products favorably in markets where governments, corporations, and institutions prioritize sustainable procurement. For customers, it provides reassurance that the modules they install not only deliver clean energy but are also produced in a manner that reduces environmental impact” said Pierre-Yves Bridel, Director of ESG and Traceability at Sinovoltaics.

As the independent verifier, Sinovoltaics assessed documentation and carried out two on-site audits. Bridel explained, “The main challenge was to verify the traceability of components all the way to the raw materials. Our expertise in traceability and supply chain audits, along with strong collaboration with Qcells, allowed us to confirm the origin of components and verify compliance with EPEAT requirements.”

“At Qcells, we want our solar products to be the most sustainably built products on the market,” said Kelly Weger, Senior Director of Sustainability at Qcells. “After more than two years of collecting extensive data, we’re excited to see our products meet EPEAT’s rigorous standards. We remain fully committed to manufacturing complete clean energy solutions and building a sustainable future.”

EPEAT is a globally recognized ecolabel that certifies sustainable electronics and technologies, helping customers choose low-carbon, environmentally responsible solutions. It addresses multiple sustainability issues, including climate change, sustainable use of resources, chemicals of concerns and supply chain due diligence. EPEAT-registered products are listed in the Global Electronics Council’s EPEAT registry, providing a reliable source for customers pursuing advanced sustainability objectives. The registry enhances supply chain performance by facilitating the procurement of low-carbon, sustainably manufactured solar panels.
