About the vacancy:
As our BESS Technical Director, you will play a key role in advising external and internal stakeholders on latest BESS, battery cell and battery module technology developments, certification and quality standards, procedures, protocols and related research and development. At the same time, the BESS Technical Director has the responsibility of overseeing the technical aspects of energy storage projects, ensuring technical compliance and decision making in line with project requirements and highest industry standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with project managers, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and successful project execution, while driving the expansion of our BESS and battery cell and battery module service scope. Strong leadership, technical knowledge, and experience in the energy storage industry are essential. 

Job Description:

Responsibilities: 

• Stay informed on the latest BESS technological and technical innovations, ensuring our services are always compliant and cutting-edge;

• Deliver detailed market and technical reports to support Sinovoltaics’ market intelligence services, offering insights on industry trends, technological advancements, and competitive landscapes;

• Proactively seek opportunities to broaden the scope of our BESS quality services, driving continuous improvement and innovation;

• Market our BESS Quality services by overseeing creation of marketing materials together with our Marketing team, such as brochures and press releases;

• Engage and network with partners and participate in working groups, conferences and roundtables with leading experts to stay at the forefront of BESS technical developments;

• Analyze, examine, and interpret data related to BESS quality and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders;

• Observe and control BESS Quality parameters to ensure compliance of clients’ supply chains by collecting and comparing Sinovoltaics data against industry benchmarks;

• Make our BESS Quality services successful by supporting our sales team and joining calls with clients as our BESS Technical Expert;

• Achieve sales targets for BESS Quality services through dedicated effort and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Competencies: 

• Experience: minimum 5 years background in BESS, battery cell and/ or battery module technology testing, inspection, and/ or certification.

• Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of BESS modules and relevant international standards and regulations. Knowledge in PCS and BoS is a Plus.

• Education: BS or higher in Physics, Material Sciences, Electrical, Chemical, or Energy Engineering, or a related field.

• Analytical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting technical data and using specialized tools for analysis.

• Language Skills: Fluency or native proficiency in English; additional proficiency in Mandarin-Chinese is a strong plus.

• Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills for effectively conveying complex technical concepts to clients and stakeholders.

• Independence: Ability to work independently with a high degree of integrity and accountability.

• Team Collaboration: Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams across different regions.

• Travel: Willingness and ability to travel frequently for conferences, workshops, and participation in factory audits, inspections, and client meetings.
