Ground mount racks: robust way of installing panels on ground

Ground mount racks can be used to easily install solar panels on the ground. This can be achieved either by using surface mounted Panels or pole mounted panels.

About Ground mount racks

Ground Mount is a way of mounting where the panels can be installed on the ground. This can be achieved either by using surface mounted Panels or pole mounted panels. [caption id="attachment_4898" align="aligncenter" width="519"]Solar ground mount rack Solar ground mount rack[/caption]

Advantages and Disadvantages Ground Mount Racks

Ground mounted panels are more robust, easy to maintain access and troubleshoot should a problem occur. One disadvantage with Ground Mounted Panels is that they cannot be installed in places which are surrounded by buildings or trees as these may block direct sunlight, thereby reducing the electrical output. Ground mounted systems will also be taking a big portion of the land, which could otherwise be used for various purposes. An ideal place for installation of these panels would be a large farm on the outskirts of the city. Ground Mount setup

Ground mounted racks typically keep the wire run distances between the solar array and the battery bank or inverter to a minimum. hey do not require ground fault protection (GFP), but a precise foundation setup and run danger of being exposed to vandalism, accumulation of dirt, leaves and snow at the bottom of the array.
